Shopping Lists

Décor

  • Glass cylinders
  • Large, shallow glass bowls
  • Baskets in various shapes, sizes, and colors
  • Small to medium sized galvanized tubs
  • Glass or ceramic ramekins
  • Colorful streamers or ribbon (if needed to section off a large table)

Food and Beverage

  • Assorted candy
    • See the Tips section for ideas
  • Soft drinks and bottled waters
    • The quantity will depend on whether you will be offering beverages during game play, or just for the Game Day Ice Cream Party
  • Ice
    • Make sure you have enough ice on hand for beverages and for chilling ice cream treats.
  • Assorted individual sized ice cream treats (one per person)
    • We suggest popsicles, ice cream sandwiches, individual ice cream cups, push-ups, and candy bar inspired offerings. You can also add a “soda fountain” component to the Game Day Ice Cream Party and offer root beer floats and cherry cokes. If you like this option, here’s what you will need:
      • Root beer
      • Cola
      • Vanilla ice cream
      • Maraschino cherries
        • Use juice to flavor cola for cherry cokes. Add a few cherries to each drink for garnish.
      • Ice cream scoop Glasses or disposable cups (8oz or larger)
      • Straws

Prizes
The actual games played at the event will be given to the winners who score the most points on a particular game. A great recycling option for prizes! You will also need a prize for the MVP, the person who scores the most total points on all games combined. We suggest a gift certificate for a massage (perfect gift after a tough day of competition), movie passes, or a gift card to Dave & Buster’s or a similar game themed entertainment establishment.

Other

  • Games Batteries (if needed for games)
  • Clipboards for score sheets & pens (one for each game)
  • Small beverage napkins
  • Spoons
    • These will be used for scooping candy like Lemon Heads and Red Hots from ramekins. Root beer floats should also be served with spoons.
  • Trash Can(s)
  • Music
    • Provide background music while guests are playing games. This can be as simple as setting a radio to a popular station or using an MP3 player set on the shuffle option to provide a great mix of tunes for all tastes and ages.
