Hello!  I’m happy to meet you!  My name is Nicole David, Founder and CEO (Chief Events Officer) of Project Office Party (POP) and the POP Girl on the homepage.  Thanks for visiting our site.

So what makes me qualified to offer suggestions on how to coordinate office parties?  My role as a professional event planner definitely helps, but the most valuable information I share on ProjectOfficeParty.com comes from my experience being “that person” almost everywhere I’ve ever worked, including my present position.  I’ve been the person who takes on the responsibilities associated with planning and executing internal office parties.  These events include birthday and retirement parties, celebrations for reaching organizational goals, new employee welcome parties, wedding/baby showers, holiday soirees, and more.  Let’s face it, there’s always a reason to celebrate!

I’ve enjoyed a rewarding career in the events industry for the past 15 years.  I began my career in Washington, DC, where I planned events for a law firm.  I then worked for two luxury hotels and had the opportunity to assist a variety of clients in coordinating their events at these properties.  After the exciting experience of living and working in our nation’s capital, I moved back to my hometown of Baton Rouge, Louisiana.  Now Baton Rouge is also home to Project Office Party!

I’ve been the Director of Events for the Baton Rouge Area Chamber (BRAC) for the past 7 years.  I plan the majority of our member and investor events with the help of our awesome staff and outstanding vendors.  Many of the signature events we’ve hosted during my time at BRAC have been recognized by prominent organizations as being among the best events in the country.

I continue to study what works and doesn’t work, what my co-workers like and dislike about the events I plan, and I’m still learning.  I observe, ask for feedback, and talk with “that person” at other organizations about their experiences.  The result of my 15 years of trial, error, and fine tuning has provided me with an extensive treasure chest of ideas, tools, and tips that I know will be helpful to ProjectOfficeParty.com members.

Everyone in an organization contributes to the overall workplace experience, but I think office party planners have one of the most crucial roles. They make it their job to care that it is your birthday, to notice that your department reached its goal, to appreciate that you and the rest of the staff have worked hard all year and deserve a fantastic holiday party.  I discovered that there isn’t a comprehensive tool on the market geared toward “that person’s” specific needs.  Office party planners should not have to settle for general entertaining resources.  Cookbooks and magazines only offer guidance on specific elements of an event, leaving the planner to go it alone to twist, mold, and expand the ideas into something that will work in an office environment.

I developed POP for these talented people and anyone else who tasks themselves with creating events that are as special as the occasions they celebrate.

Enjoy!
